Session Guide

The Bough Beech Sailing Club Youth Squad runs sessions every other Sunday for all abilities of both Sailing and Windsurfing. Sign up on the website and then turn up and be ready to go sailing at 2pm. Sessions are for sailing club members only.

For those who don't have their own boat, we have a range of hire boats and boards for you to borrow. Please express your preference when you book. There is sometimes quite a bit of demand for the hire fleet, so we can't always guarantee you'll get the boat you ask for.

In terms of kit, you need to wear a wetsuit until May, however it's probably advisable to get one to wear through most of season as it is colder on the water than it is on the land. Also remember that you get double the sunlight on the water so even when it looks cloudy, please put suncream on for EVERY session.

Session Timings

1:15pm - Please try and get to the sailing club in plenty of time before the session starts to give you time to register, get changed and grab your boat.

2:00pm - Session begins with a squad briefing followed by your group briefing

2:30pm - On the water session begins

4:00pm - On the water session ends / Group de-brief

4:15pm - De-rig - you are responsbile for putting away the boat you sailed NOT your instructor

4:30pm - Squad de-brief / End of session
